Of Course Adversaries Are In Our Utility Systems

See Article Here

As I read the attached about foreign adversaries being in our power grid and SCADA systems, the Special Agent in me says, of course they are in our systems! However, we are in theirs too! Let me say that again. Our adversaries are just as compromised as we are, the question is why won’t anyone act on it?

Newsflash, let me tell you why, because we and our adversaries know that if acted upon it would be an act of war! Even though everyone likes to flex there muscles, who really wants another war? This is not to say the threat is not real. Adversaries can and will show that they are capable of causing real damage to those that are of an opposing view. However, is it war they want or the threat of war? Which makes more money?

Everyone knows the line and if you cross that line, even off only in the cyber world, it becomes a real world problem and people start losing their lives. Despite everything, it is my belief that crippling our infrastructure (or the infrastructure of an adversary) is something to be done when things escalate to a point where it is wartime activity. Let’s just hope that is the case.

Lastly, I would like to thank you all for reading my posts since I started this year, it has been such a great journey and thank you for joining me. This will be my last post for the year as I am working on so many things that I need the final two weeks to catch up. See you in 2019!
